The only other person you could make a case for at AL SS SS would be Jhonny Peralta.
Guess what? His GIDP was 2 higher than Jeter.
Jeter: .300, .363, 408; Jeter had 52 BB/ 85 SO, had 179 H and 88 R.
Peralta: .276, .331, .476; Peralta had 48 BB/ 126 SO, had 167 H and 104 R.
It's close because of Jhonny's power numbers, 23 HR and 89 RBI to DJs 11 HR and 69 RBI...but while Jhonny hit well for power, he just was worse in Jeter in almost everything else.

Thats the reason for the the
Its was a down year for the AL SS this season but I still can argue that Peralta was still more deserving.

Wait, what?
I think Jeter deserved it more.
It's a toss up.

Yeah too bad Ramirez was a second baseman.
2008 Giants > Padres
Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.74 career ERA, but has won just 30 of his 104 starts.

He only played a few games at SS and I think I saw him play the OF once. He played second because Uribe had to play third or ride the pine.
