ESPN - MLB Baseball Relative Power Index (RPI) - MLB

+The basic formula is 25% team winning percentage, 50% opponents' average winning percentage, and 25% opponents' opponents' average winning percentage.

*ExW-L and ExWP are derived from Bill James' Pythagorean theorem of baseball: Runs scored [squared] / (Runs scored [squared] + runs allowed [squared]). This formula was designed to relate a team's runs scored and runs allowed to its won-lost record.
Top 5
1. Rays (.538)
2. Angels (.534)
3. Red Sox (.533)
4. Cubs (.523)
5. White Sox (.522)

Notables
The AL East have FOUR of the top SEVEN spots. (Jays are 6th, Yanks are 7th). The Nationals and Padres are over NINE points back of Seattle for the bottom two spots.

The Orioles and Blue Jays would be in a tough battle for the NL West lead so yes the AL East is the best division and the formula to me seems to be very accurate

I don't understand....how are the Mets behind 5 teams with a lower expected winning percentage?

Sure, at this point, 4/5 of the top five will be in the playoffs. But a 10 year old could rank those teams that high.

Voted no. The Angels in 2nd place? IF you got to play the Seattle Mariners 20 times a season, you'll pad your stats a little bit. The Angels are inferior to many teams that are below them. The RPI index is a bit skewed in my opinion.
