Hard to argue against that. Morgan brings his game down and giantsfan, all commentators say obvious things. Its kind of hard to keep the energy going for nine innings. Jack Buck and Vin Scully said obvious things too because they had to. Can't have dead air even though most of us would rather have that when some of the things they say.

There are 2 things that diferentiate a great sports commentator from the mediocre. You hit the nail on the head on the first one: how they handle dead air time. The second is how they handle the unexpected. I'm obviously speaking my opinion here, and I'm cool with agreeing to disagree with you reefer (no hard feelings obviously ) but I just feel that Miller and Morgan both fail miserably at both. I absolutely feel like I wish they would stop talking sometimes rather than listen to them talk. And I also feel like their calls on the unexpected are just plain awful. That's all IMO.

Miller is actually good at the unexpected and never holds back. I remember him calling a Giants game and I cannot for the life of me think of who this loser was for the Giants but he made the worst baserunning blunder of all-time and Miller ripped him a new asshole on the spot. It was great and don't think everybody would have been so dead honest. Again think what you will but I think Morgan's stupidity has something to do with your opinion of Miller.
