That's pretty much the way I felt about mine too

His K's are there...his wins aren't. His ERA is very good, but not outstanding. I mean, his world series wins are big....and it's definitely one of those borderline cases....maybe I'd give it to him...I just don't know.

So no.

So, despite your yes vote in the 20-0 shutout, you don't think John Smoltz is a hall of famer?

Post season success, he has a sub 3.50 career ERA, and he has the 3000 Ks
The only thing he's lacking is one of the most overrated stats in sports....the Ws for a baseball pitcher.

Huh? It wasn't me who asked about Smoltz. And my first reply was even "first ballot no question".

Not the point.
You said "if you had to ask" and someone had to ask.

It's watered down w/ compilers, Schilling is not one of them. he was a truly great pitcher and along w/ Smoltz the best big game starting pitchers of their generation. This man helped end the Yankee dynasty in 2001 then did the unthinkable by leading the Red Sox past the Yankees in '04 en route to their first WS title in 86 years. It may take away a while b/c he's not really liked but he definitely belongs in.

I forgot Schilling has 3000 Ks, I missed it in Leo's first post, so I'm changing my vote to a YES. And I agree with his ERA and the crappy teams he was on Philly, I think he's HOF hands down.

See, this is why I try to avoid arguments with you, because you nitpick and it is tiresome.
Clearly, he should not have asked, as the 20-0 vote total attests.
If he asked one about Babe Ruth, I would have no control over it.

See, I never understood how people say winning in the regular season and postseason are two different things. You still have to be on good teams to be considered "a great postseason pitcher."
Don Larsen was a ridiculous playoff pitcher.
Schilling has good numbers, but he was only a 5 time all star and never won a Cy Young.
He's a good strikeout pitcher who benefitted from the spotlight of the two successful teams he was on.
Not a HOF in my book. As everyone said during the Larry Walker debate "even if he could've had something, but didn't get it, he doesn't deserve the HOF"

The Greatest Day in Yankee History.
The day the two greatest were born.

That's actually not true. Larsen was a good playoff pitcher. He had ONE "ridiculous" start. But he was actually very up and down. his overall postseason numbers were 2-3, 2.75 ERA. Good. By no means was he "ridiculous".
