AL: Cliff Lee; Indians (12-2, 2.31 ERA, 124.2 IP, 20 BB, 106 Ks)

NL: Ben Sheets; Brewers (10-3, 2.85 ERA, 123.0 IP, 28 BB, 108 Ks)

I obviously wanted the two Bay Area guys to start (Duchscherer and Lincecum), but seeing as they both pitched yesterday, I knew it wasn't likely.

What about you? Agree? Disagree? Even care? Comments please.

Need I say more?

Personally I wanted Lee vs either Lincecum or Volquez. I know Duscherer has been good, but not as good as Lee. Lincecum has been amazing(except against my Mets), and so has Volquez, so either of them would have been fine. Sheets is good, but his numbers are just slightly below those two. Idk, I don't really care, seeing as how the starter will only go 2 innings anyway.

Since Webb, Duchscherer and Lincecum pitched over the weekend they will not be starting the game. Duke has been as good as Lee, even better. Look at that ERA!! Who cares if he doesn't strike out a lot of people?

Giants > Padres

Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.70 career ERA, but has won just 29 of his 95 starts.

he's currently got the lowest ERA among all starters in the majors...I'd say that's pretty damn good. He should have gotten the win yesterday, which would have put him only 1 behind Lee. But really, an ERA below 2.00 is ridiculous. I don't expect him to keep it up, but he's done so up to this point.

To only give up more than two runs ONCE this year is amazing.

I would have liked to see Duke and Lincecum, but Lee vs. Sheets will be a good start. And these guys only last an inning or two anyway.

As I said in the other thread, I knew Duke was doing well, but I never actually saw his stats(which admittedly puts me in a bad situation to vote here. Now that I saw his stats, I agree that Duke deserved it.
