Jason Varitek would have caught that blooper if he was playing 2nd base.

I, too, would pick K-Rod just so he can blow a 3-run lead in the 9th inning and then have his offense bail him out in the 10th inning so he can act as if he himself closed out the game.

If the question is referring to who would you want to be your closer today then I gota go with Papelbon, but if its referring to overall I gota go with Hoffman, no disrespect to Mo.

Mariano has been the best this year and it's a huge insult to say you'd take Hoffman over Mariano when Mariano has been so much better. What would make you choose Hoffman over Rivera?

For the record, Brad Lidge has been the best this year.

Giants > Padres

Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.70 career ERA, but has won just 29 of his 95 starts.

I would take KRod in WS Game 7. Did anyone see how well he did under pressure in just is rookie season?

Don't get me wrong K-Rod is a great closer but this year he's given up a few too many runs for my liking, did he get the job done yea but I'd take Paps or Mo over him... i mean we are getting really picky when we are choosing between Paps, Mo, Krod, and Nathan as they are all elite closers.

If I have a choice of facing any closer, it would be papelbon. His brilliance was exhibited last night!!
