I believe the diagnosis is broken confidence. Of course Joe Torre was quick to suggest that Sweeney suffered a boo boo with his hamstring so that Sweeney wouldn't get his ass cut (not literally, but Torre doesn't mind kissing boo boos at that part of the body).
