    Because this board doesn't have a feature for me to cross out the "not" in the thread title of the other thread. But anyway:
Good lord, Mark Sweeney batting fifth, ahead of Kemp and Dewitt? I know the folks at Baseball Prospectus believe lineups don't matter much, but they must not have taken into account the VORP of waste of marker pen strokes in the lineup like Sweeney. n = [log (($17 million amount deferred x .02754 interest daily periodic rate)/30 days in cycle) - log ($5 million base x .02514 interest nominal periodic rate/162 games prorated in cycle)]/log (1+i) |

Sweeney in the lineup period is a mistake. Bochy pulled that shit last year when Sweeney was batting less than .100 over a mildly hot Klesko. Sweeney is a great pinch hitter and that's about it.
 2008 Giants > Padres  Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.74 career ERA, but has won just 30 of his 104 starts. |

I was just going to say that it's something that the Giants or the Padres might be desperate enough to do, but a Joe Torre team?
