WOW, this has been an incredible run for them. They are on an 11 game winnning streak. Their newly constructed lineup has produced great effects on this teams ability to take over in the NL West as they are tied for the lead in the NL Wild Card as well.
My question to you is, is this the team to beat in the wild card hunt?
Might as well make an appearance. The Dodgers are a threat to the WC but more importantly the West. Dodgers sit just a halfgame behind the Padres. They have a three game series with the Giants this weekend
2008 Giants > Padres
Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.74 career ERA, but has won just 30 of his 104 starts.
They look tough... They seem to be gelling at the right time. Streaks are going to happen (good and bad).. If they just play consistent baseball, and not streaky, they will be in the mix til the end. The west teams just seems to be streaky, so I guess the key is to have a hot streak and still be in the mix in Sept. Kind of like Padres held on last year. It will be interesting.
I am starting to overlook the Giants but there are still in the race which tell you how sad this division has become. Every team was playing wel in the first half.

hopefully this thread has the same effect LTR's thread had on the Padres at the beginning of June last year.
How ironic that they lost the next game after this thread was made.
Counting down to: The end of Andruw Jones's contract with the Dodgers:
n = [log (($17 million amount deferred x .02754 interest daily periodic rate)/30 days in cycle) - log ($5 million base x .02514 interest nominal periodic rate/162 games prorated in cycle)]/log (1+i)
true.... and there is still a lot of baseball left to be played..... the key is just not to loose several games in a row... i know how it is to be a fan of streaky teams....
