Glad to have another poster. Mainly it is just me. Prov A's sticks around to keep the Angels from taking over his A's.....plus he's just an all around good baseball fan and wealth of information.
What is your take on the Angels name change?

I think it's bull. They should keep it at Anahiem Angels, even California Angels wouldn't be bad. I started watching them back in the early '90's when they were the California Angels.

I personally like the name California Angels the best....
I didn't see the problem with Anaheim Angels. They are in Anaheim, jeez.

The Angels are not my favorite team, but I have had a chance to see and meet many of the kids that have come through their farm system. I go to see their Midwest League affiliate as often as I can -- the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
They have some promising players there this season -- Hainley Statia, another in a long line of middle infielders that have come through the system, Tommy Mendoza, a 19 year old pitcher with good stuff, Nick Adenhart -- a 20 year old pitcher that moved to Rancho Cucamonga in July, and Brad Coon, an outfielder with good speed and a great arm.
I'll report on the team next season.
catman to the board and to the Angels forum. We take fans of all teams here. It is nice you get a chance to follow minor league baseball. Feel free to report on it here anytime.

I will do so as time allows. My wife and I know the Cedar Rapids GM (he is a cousin of a classmate of mine that I met when we were kids). I'll try to get to their welcome luncheon and talk to the manager. They are usually very approachable.
