I think this does not feel great for the Astros, but it may help them in the long run. I figure if they play him, he may just slow them down.
At least they have a viable player to start at first base this year in Berkman and their outfield will not suffer either. In the long run, I guess a few conversations in this forum lead me to feel like this would be best for the Stros even though Bags is a fan favorite.

I don't know about him retiring. I am on the edge on this one. If he can come back and be productive, then bring him back.
For the Stros' sake, I think they should stick with Berkman at 1B and look at building their outfield. Bags may just have to hang 'em up.
