The Astros could have two rookies starting in the outfield on Opening Day this year. Since 1997, four Astros rookies have started on Opening Day: right fielder Bobby Abreu (1997), center fielder Richard Hidalgo (1998), third baseman Morgan Ensberg (2002) and shortstop Adam Everett (2002).

This year they MAY be trotting out Luke Scott, a corner outfielder with a big left-handed stick, and Willy Taveras, a speedster centerfielder who led the triple A league in hitting last year.

Abreu, Hidalgo, Ensberg and Everett. Not a bad list of guys. I'd certainly take any one of them on my team.

Pretty intresting, Scott doesn't project as much more than a bench player/pinch hitter right now, but with a good start he could end up getting an extended look.

He will not stay on the roster unless he is playing. Don't look for him coming off the bench anytime soon.

Abreu was selected in the Expansion draft by Tampa Bay, and then traded to Philadelphia for the great...Kevin Stocker.

Yeah, drafted from the Astros by the Devil Rays in the 98 expansion.

That's what I said, isn't it?

I don't even know.

It's what I meant.
