The Houston Astros found themselves 15-30 on May 22nd...15 games below .500 and in last place in the NL Central. Since that day the Astros have gone on a torrid pace (41-17) finding themselves at 56-47, nine games above .500 and in first place in the wild card race.

They still haven't added any players to the mix as of yet. If they were to get the stick they want without ruining the chemistry of the team, lookout!

Man, that is impressive! I did not realize that they were on such a tear. I think the cards may have to be careful if the Stros could get a bat as well. Could the Stros and cards be battling it out for a big bat just before the deadline ends? Could be interesting to see these two division rivals one upping eachother for a needed big bat.

The pace continues with a 2-0 win over the Mets!

Astros go for the second sweep in a row tommorrow.

Hot, but not as hot as the A's

-A's leads the majors with 313 runs since May 30.
-A's are 40-14 in that span (also best in majors)
-A's are now only 2.5 behind the Angels
-A's lead the Yanks by 1.5 games for the Wild Card

We were also 15 games below .500 at one point and now 11 over.

Before the A's and Astros got back to .500 after being 15 below only 5 teams in the history of MLB got back to .500 after being 15 under. Amazing that not 1, but 2 teams did it this year.
