Schuerholz can be kind of a dick like that, but the trade rumor picked up a lot of heat and at several points seemed close to being done. I'm not too big on rumor-mongering but that deal had been talked about for like 8 months before it went down, and it's hard to see it holding so much steam if it was never close.
