    Torre has just turned down a one year deal with a $5 mil base with a one year option. The one year deal included an additional million for each round of the playoffs which could have made it $8 mil. Torre turned this down and just gives a big **** you to George!! I love it and good for Joe. This is bad for the Yankees as their dominance is coming to an end. It will fun to see how they replace Joe and where Joe goes from here.

I would think it had less to do with money and more to do with the BS, all the blame that he receives, and doing this "Torre will be fired/won't be back" dance every year the Yanks don't win the WS...yup

I really feel this move is going to come back and bite the Yankees in the you know what!!
I feel whoever is the next manager, is going to get set up and fail. I sure feel bad for that guy. Mattingly, if it is him, is going to be ridiculed just like he was as a player. Whoever the manager will be, I hope they have the ability to ignore and handle stress. |
