Rockies placed outfielder Brad Hawpe on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 21, with a strained right hamstring.
Clint Barmes also went on the DL, leaving the Rockies quite short-handed. Ryan Spilborghs should be an everyday player while Hawpe is out, and he wouldn't be a bad short-term play in deeper mixed leagues. Seth Smith will play right field when Spilborghs moves over to center.

Rockies placed infielder Clint Barmes on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right knee.
Juan Castro is sidelined in Triple-A, so the Rockies will have to go with Omar Quintanilla at short for the next couple of weeks. Jeff Baker will likely get most of the starts at second, with Jonathan Herrera serving as a backup at both positions.
Ouch!!! Barmes has really revived his career this year but now Tulo and Barmes are gone. Hawpe is a huge hit too as he plays great defense. Seth Smith and Ian Stewart were called up to replace them.

2008 Giants > Padres

Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.74 career ERA, but has won just 30 of his 104 starts.

You can add Matt Holliday to that list as he was just put on the 15 day DL.

Damn they are being hit hard on the injury front. No wonder they are struggling.

The Rocks were struggling badly BEFORE all the injuries though.

If we are going to make a run, we need to get these guys all healthy (and they are starting to).
