Kip Wells will undergo surgery Tuesday to remove blood clots from his pitching hand.
Doctors are also hoping to discover what's causing the clots, as the Rockies fear it could be related to Wells' history of circulation problems. He seems unlikely to return from the disabled list when eligible next week.
Hopefully he can return and get back to being mediocre or miraculously better. Good luck Kip!

This is a problem he's had before, so it shouldn't be too bad. But don't expect him back for probably a bit over 4 weeks. If I remember correctly, he was out 4-6 last time he had the blood clotting issue.
