The Indians designated Jorge Julio for assignment to make room for Jake Westbrook coming off the DL. Julio had an ERA of 5.60 and had really struggled lately. He's only 29 though and could turn it around. I wonder if he'll be claimed or if he'll end up making it through and going to AAA.

Westbrook only went 5 innings in his first start back and didn't factor in the decision as the bullpen, specifically Perez and Betancourt, gave up the lead in the 7th inning as the White Sox went on to win 6 - 5. Westbrook did give up 3 earned runs with 2 walks, 5 hits, 3 k's, and a 1 homer in his 5 innings.

Glad to see Westbrook back.

I can't wait to get Carmona back and have a rotation with Sabathia, Carmona, Lee, Westbrook, and Byrd or Laffey.

yea, once they get the starting pitching back they'll have no real excuses for poor performance on that end. It will be on the hitters to start to get going though. If the Indians are to bounce back the pitching needs to be there as well. If they get on a roll like they did earlier in the season, they can at least give the team a chance to win despite the struggling offense.

Julio was another guy who just couldn't harness that fast ball. It had mean speed, but he seemed to never know where it was going. It was either wild or straight down the middle resulting in straight over the fence.
