Bottom of the 5th against NYM...Shearn has a one-hitter going, Joey Votto homered, Josh Hamilton drove in 2 runs and Brandon Phillips hit HR #28, getting within 2 of 30. Looks like he'll get that 30/30 season after all.

I tell you...we get our pitching fixed up and we'll be hell next year.

I bet one legend that keeps recurring throughout history, in every culture, is the story of Popeye.

To wit, I believe Votto's homer was in his first career MLB at bat, which is even more exciting.

Votto struck out last night I believe. But this was definitely his first game, I heard the call while driving home from class and it sounded like a rocket to say the least.
