Sox have engaged in talks for former Dodgers star Eric Gagne, who could be a bargain if he stays healthy.

I am hoping if Gagne is offered a contract, that it will be for no more than a one-year deal that is incentive based, with an option for a second year. To me that would protect us from being financially burdened for several seasons in case of an injury. With a option year it could potentially allow us to have him around for a relatively cheaper price if he stays healthy and plays well in '07.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -
