Gives them depth in the OF.

Giants > Padres

Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain He has a 3.70 career ERA, but has won just 29 of his 95 starts.

Decent trade, not much but something nonetheless.

Marrero seems to be a good fielder, but I think we could have gotten a better hitter, say Minnie Mendoza?? Matos coming off the DL this week, looks like Newhan is going to triple A Ottawa becasue he still has 2 options on his contract, and now the O's have joined a few other teams in inquiring about Preston WIlson of the Rockies, who happens to be in town tonight and the weekend, perhaps an audition.

That's a good thing. So how are things going with Kolb down in Hotlanta, rumor mill has the Braves ready to deal for Lidge before the break.

Yeah, and what are we gonna give? Kolb has always sucked for us, since ST.

Why would Houston even deal Lidge? Lidge is a core player that the Astros can build around. That does not make sense. I can understand dealing Clemens, but Brad Lidge. This guy is a cornerstone for years to come.

Don't forget the fact that Marrero is also a catcher and 1B.

Eric(Tyler,TX): Are the astros still trying to make anymore trades? Any idea what they are doing down there?

SportsNation Jonah Keri: (2:08 PM ET ) Drayton McClane and Ed Wade are doing what any smart team 13 1/2 games out of first would do: Trading away prospects and blowing millions of dollars on mediocre pitchers. Maybe the Astros get a compensation pick for Randy Wolf. Other than that, no idea what they're thinking. That franchise is in bad shape.

I think the catcher portion made it very appealing for the O's
