I fully agree with you Crimson. Wins are a team stat and not an individual responsibility. Yes, the pitcher has a bigger role in the matter of winning or losing most of the time, but he still needs the offense to help him out.

I agree on the wins too. If a pitcher gives up something like 6 runs on 8 hits over 5 innings but still wins the game, does that mean he pitched a good game? I saw a linescore recently where a pitcher gave up about as many runs as innings pitched and won, but I can't remember who or what team it was. When a guy pitches like that he just got lucky that the offense was going behind him. You should never get credit for a win with numbers like that.
