So whats up with the O's?

So what is up wih the Orioles? Are they sellers this trade season? Are guys like Cabrera and Bako available? I know teams are interested in Jay Payton, but I am not sure if he is as coveted as Jermaine Dye or Adam Dunn. Do you guys think he will moved?

Whether Jay Patton will be traded or not is literally a flip of a coin. who knows? We certainly wont be getting anyone terribly important for him.

I don't think MacPhail will make any moves at all.. I read an article somewhere. He's thinking of the long run, I"m guessing he'll spend some cash this offseason.

Thinking of the long run might also mean he is looking forward to next year's draft. Maybe trying to get a high pick for next season and also allowing free agents to walk to get supplemental picks. Who are the potential free agents with the Orioles?

If he's thinking of the long run, guys like Tejada, Payton, Bako, Gibbons, et al. should be shipped out. He should also be trying to trade Bradford and Walker for young guys while they still have value.

I think MacPhail didn't want to make any moves also because of how well this squad has been playing under Trembley. Why mess up a good thing? The Orioles are now 21-15 under Trembley.
