Once again the quote still rings true "Nice Guys Finish Last" as Perlozzo was fired today. So i am going to make it my perogitive to take a stab at the changes that are about to come with the Orioles.

Front Office
Owner - Peter Angelos
Chief Operating Officer - Andy MacPhail
President of Baseball Operations - Mike Flanagan
Vice President of Baseball Operations - Jim Duquette

Coaches
Manager - Joe Girardi
Bench Coach - Sam Perlozzo
1B Coach - Sam Mejias
3B Coach - Juan Samuel
Hitting Coach - Terry Crowley***
Pitching Coach - Leo Mazzone
Bullpen Coach - Dave Trembley***
(***) = will most likely change, I just have no idea who it would be yet. I need to investigate

Lineup
1.) Brian Roberts, 2B
2.) Nick Markakis, RF
3.) Miguel Tejada, SS
4.) Mark Teixeira, 1B
5.) Ramon Hernandez, C
5.) Melvin Mora, 3B
6.) Kevin Millar, DH
7.) Corey Patterson, CF
8.) Jay Payton, LF
Depth... Chris Gomez (situational), Freddy Bynum (situational), Paul Bako (catcher)

Pitchers
1.) Erik Bedard
2.) Daniel Cabrera
3.) Steve Trachsel
4.) Jeremy Guthrie
5.) Brian Burres
6.) Haden Penn
7.) Jaret Wright
8.) Jon Leicester

Bullpen
1.) Chris Ray
2.) Chad Bradford
3.) Jamie Walker
4.) John Parrish
5.) Todd Williams
6.) Scott Williamson
7.) Kurt Birkins
8.) Jim Johnson
Others... James Hoey, Cory Doyne

Those missing... Aubrey Huff (1B), Jay Gibbons (OF), Adam Loewen (SP), Danys Baez (CP).

Those players missing I feel will either be traded for Teixeira or like Baez will be released unless he turns around in a BIG way. I don't want to lose Nick Markakis in a trade for Teixeira however if that happens, I would LOVE to see Angelos actually go into his pockets try and sign Ichiro Suzuki, CF, from Seattle and move Patterson to Right Field.

I am so very much hoping. for something like that to happen. Maybe, we will up the bullpen in free agency too.

I would my sell or do just about anything to have the..............

Why should we trade for Teixiera? I would rather wait to get him on the free agent market, if we even go after him. If we do, it will cost us Markakis, who we really shouldn't trade. He can be better than Tex at the major league level. With a labrum injury, the Rangers are not going to be interested in Adam Loewen at all.

I also do not see the club keeping Perlozzo around, not after the barriers that were set up between himself and some of the players. He is a nice guy, but I don't think that any manager would keep the former one around in the position right below his.

You can take Todd Williams out of your bullpen, and I do think Daniel Cabrera will be traded before the deadline. Angelos will veto any trade involving his "greek" star of the future. Suzuki will not leave Seattle, Japan practically owns Seattle and will pay the price to keep him. Good luck trading Gibbons, he makes way to much money for any sane team to take him, what is he batting these days .200? I also think we will make a bid, one that strecthes the term "home team discount" to a new low, and Tex will sign elsewhere, my bet is the Yankees are looking to upgrade at first base.

Nick Markakis in 2006 and 2007 has 102 RBIs, 25 HRs, and is batting .341.

Mark Teixiera in '06 and '07 has 151 RBIs, 45 HRs, and is batting .368 his entire career.

Teixiera is just 3 years older then Markakis and is said that "playing for the O's is a dream of his" the reason we would need him now is because there are other teams trying to trade for him. Like i said in another thread, i dont want to lose Markakis, but Markakis and Loewen would be a fair trade, or Huff and Loewen and some money.

If we lose Markakis I would go after Ichiro because he is a free agent and it is time the O's start spending more money.

we are considered one of the leaders for Tex, Cabrara could be involved in that trade. I just hate Gibbons I know he will be back. He has a bad attitude.

Suzuki may leave Seattle because money talks. Too bad Angelos isn't well known for that.

Welcome OsBros! Glad to have you here.

Teixiera is a FA next season. After firing your manager, aren't you guys just starting a reformation of sorts? I would think your chances for contention are pretty slim right now. Trading for Tex would help you for this season. Then he is a FA and you lose him and the player(s) you dealt for him.

Are you guys still trying to contend?

BEFORE we trade any of the youngsters... Mora and Tejada should be traded. The O's clubhouse is divided. That needs to be addressed FIRST. Chemistry has been discussed at length regarding the O's ever since Miguel opened his mouth about a year ago.

I get that most O's fans would love to have both Teixeira and Markakis on their team but "Aubrey Huff and some money" doesn't even come close to equal substitution value for Markakis.

Perlozzo, it has been reported on the radio is staying with the O's but not as a bench coach, which was his initial coaching position, but as an assistant of player operations

No way we should trade for Tex btw... Just make a play on him in FA in a couple years. We should be trading for young talent... not trading it.

Tex is young talent and would be better then any batter we have by far. There are so many teams trying to trade for him that he may not be available.

Tex isn't going to make us a winning team, especially with what we would have to give up to get him.

Re: The "could be" Forecast of the Baltimore Orioles - 06-20-2007, 01:24 PM

on my quest for a possible trade idea for Teixiera, while keeping Markakis of course, I think I may have done it!

It would involve a 3 team trade.

Orioles send Miguel Tejada to some short stop needing "Unknown Team"
"Unknown Team" sends a young pitcher and/or outfielder to the Rangers
The Rangers then send the O's Teixiera.

Now maybe with some other prospect players here or there, but that is the general overall idea. I havent yet decided who that "unknown team" would be. However I do think it may be best to part ways with Tejada who stepped up as the leader of the team a few years ago and has now left it vacant. The only problem with this trade is that it would leave us with technically 3 first basemen. Teixiera, Huff, and Millar. So to me, Huff then becomes another trade for a couple young prospects or some short stop.

Maybe something like Huff to the Twins for SS Jason Bartlett. There Huff could be 1B/DH

any thoughts or should i just shut up and keep dreaming? I really don't think Teixiera will make it to Free Agency, the Rangers need help and they know they can get some players for him. Even though the Orioles look like a mess from the outside I feel like we are a sleeping giant and we just need some kind of spark to get this team going. I am clearly passionate that Tex could be that start
